BPD in the Community: Our Officers Had a Great Time Making New Friends at Public Safety Day at Lee School in Dorchester

Making a Difference: Officer Michelle Maffeo (pictured), along with members of the BPD’s K-9 Unit, had a wonderful time making friends and growing the level of trust that exists between our officers and our city’s young people during Safety Day at the Lee School on Talbot Ave in Dorchester. Safety Day, an informal and friendly setting, allows kids to sit behind the wheel of a real police cruiser, get on the radio, play with the siren, all the while, getting to know our officers. As you can well imagine, our officers had a great time interacting with the kids and communicating to them in no uncertain terms that, when it comes to keeping people safe, protecting our city’s young people is one of our highest priorities.
