District E-5 Officers Had a Ball Playing Softball with Kids from the Neighborhood at the Ohrenberger School in West Roxbury

PLAY BALL: On Monday, July 29, 2019, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury), including Captain Therese Kozmiski and Superintendent Nora Baston, took to the diamond at the Ohrenberger School in West Roxbury for a fun-filled game of softball with kids from the neighborhood. By all reports, the kids and officers had a wonderful time getting to know each other while competing against one another during the game. And, as is the case with all of the BPD’s community outreach efforts, there were no losers in this game, only winners walking off the field. As for the game’s MVP, well, that award has to go to the BPD Ice Cream Truck which, when it arrived on scene, produced smiles quicker than the blink of an eye while delivering much deserved cool, frosty treats to all the kids. Special thanks to all who participated, especially our officers, who say they had a blast and are already looking forward to the next game. Also, special thanks to the PAL (Boston Police Athletic League) for printing and providing the shirts worn by each team.
