Boston Police Department Command Staff Promotion Ceremony

On Thursday, August 1, 2019 Boston Police Commissioner William G. Gross was proud to announce the promotion of five experienced and tested leaders in the Boston Police Department.

Deputy Superintendent Gerard Bailey was promoted to the rank of Superintendent, Night Command. Superintendent Bailey is a twenty-nine-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Deputy Superintendent Winifred Cotter was promoted to the rank of Superintendent, Bureau of Professional Development. Superintendent Cotter is a thirty-two-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Lieutenant Detective Charles Wilson was promoted to the rank of Superintendent, Bureau of Intelligence and Analysis. Superintendent Wilson is a thirty-six-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Lieutenant Detective James Miller was promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent, Bureau of Investigative Services. Deputy Superintendent Miller is a eighteen-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Sergeant Detective Carmen Curry was promoted to the rank of Deputy Superintendent, Operations Division. Deputy Superintendent Curry is a thirty-two-year veteran of the Boston Police Department.

Each of these command staff members have distinguished themselves over the course of their careers through hard work, dedication, and commitment to the community.
