At about 4:10 PM on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, officers assigned to District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in the area of 27 Coolidge Road in Allston. Officers spoke to the victim who stated she had heard movement in the upstairs apartment. The victim stated that the upstairs tenants were on vacation so she exited her apartment and was subsequently met by an unknown male party. The victim stated she spoke to the male who incorrectly identified the upstairs neighbor. The victim continued speaking with the male, believing that he should not have been inside of the upstairs residence. The victim was able to compile vital information including a detailed description of the male as well as the motor vehicle in which he was operating. Officers observed damage to the apartment door, frame, and lock as well as pry marks. Concurrently, additional officers noticed a vehicle matching the registration provided by the victim operating in the area of Waverly Street and South Waverly Street. Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of 75 Lincoln Street and located a large screwdriver underneath the driver’s seat. The suspect was positively identified and placed under arrest.
Officers arrested Glen Deloney, 63-years-old, of Roxbury. Deloney is expected to be arraigned in Brighton District Court on charges of Malicious Destruction of Property, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Attempt to Commit a Crime, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License, and Trespassing.
