Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest and Recovery of a Loaded Firearm During Investigation into Shots Fired Incident in Dorchester

At about 4:05 PM on Friday August 9, 2019, officers assigned to District C-11 (Dorchester) arrested Lisa Nguyen, 26, of Dorchester, on firearm related charges after recovering a loaded firearm during a traffic stop in the area of 45 Adams Street in Dorchester. During the stop, officers located and recovered a fully loaded 9mm Glock 19 Gen 4 with an extended magazine which was loaded 24 rounds of ammunition, including one round in the chamber. The firearm was located inside a bag that the suspect was carrying at the time of the traffic stop.

The officers had stopped the vehicle as part of an investigation into a shots fired incident that occurred on Tuesday August 6, 2019, in the area of 15 Lincoln Street in Dorchester. There were no injuries or ballistic damage reported during the initial incident although officers did recover several shell casings at the crime scene. District detectives continue to investigate the suspect’s possible involvement in that incident.

The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition Carrying a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device and Possession of a Firearm with an Altered Serial Number.
