Investigation Update: Male Arrested in Connection to Open and Gross Lewdness in the area of 415 Commonwealth Avenue 


UPDATE: At about 10:30 AM on Friday, August 23, 2019, officers assigned to District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for open and gross lewdness in the area of Arlington Street and Newbury Street inside of the Public Garden. While enroute, officers received information that a white male had been hiding in the bushes committing a lewd act. On arrival, officers located the male inside of the Public Gardens and placed him under arrest for an active warrant.

Officers arrested a 43-year-old male of Boston. The suspect had an active warrant out of Boston Municipal Court for Unarmed Breaking and Entering, Open and Gross Lewdness, and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

The facts and circumstances of the original incident are as follows: At about 9:39 AM on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering in the area of 415 Commonwealth Avenue in Boston. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated an unknown white male had been following her as she walked to her residence on August 5, 2019 at about 11:35 PM. The victim stated she had entered her residence and proceeded through two doors, both of which require access, before entering the elevator.

The victim stated she had obtained surveillance footage which had shown an unknown white male enter the foyer of the residence after the victim had entered the elevator. The male is shown committing a lewd act while inside of the foyer. The male is then shown attempting to access the second door, before leaving the scene.
