BPD in the Community: Cooking Class Sponsored by the Lingzi Lu Foundation Enables BPD Officers to Connect with Community Members in Roxbury

Cooking Class Sponsored by the Lingzi Lu Foundation Enables BPD Officers to Connect with Community Members in Roxbury: Over six years ago, on April 15, 2013, Lingzi Lu, a graduate student from China attending Boston University, was killed during the attack on our Boston Marathon. Since her passing, the Lingzi Lu Foundation has worked steadfastly to keep Lingzi’s memory, spirit of hope and love of people alive. Recently, that spirit was on full display as the foundation sponsored a cooking class at the Hawthorne Community Center in Roxbury where BPD Officers connected with community members and their families while learning and embracing the positive virtues that accompany home-cooked meals and healthy living. More than anything else, the class sought to reinforce the idea and age-old adage that, “The family that cooks together, stays together.” As you can see in the video, all who participated had a wonderful time, not only learning how to cook, but also how to connect with those they were cooking with. Special thanks to the Lingzi Lu Foundation for sponsoring this wonderful event. Our officers had a blast.
