BPD Officers Arrest Two Suspects After Recovering Loaded Firearm During Investigation in Mattapan

At about 10:51 PM on Monday September 9, 2019, officers assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Romanni Nettles, 18, of Woburn and Kahnari White, 18, of Mattapan, while recovering a loaded firearm during an investigation in the area of 636 Morton Street in Mattapan. While performing a pat frisk of Nettles, the officers recovered a loaded .25 caliber Bauer Firearms handgun from the suspect’s right pants pocket. The suspect was immediately placed in custody without incident. As the officers made the arrest, the second suspect, White, fled on foot but was later placed in custody after being pursued through a nearby backyard. Both suspects will appear in Dorchester District Court for arraignment. Romanni Nettles will be charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Carrying a Loaded Firearm. Kahnari White will be charged with Trespassing.
