Officers Arrest Two and Recover Loaded Firearm and Drugs in Dorchester

One Less Gun: At about 4:09 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2019, members of the District B-3 (Mattapan) Drug Control Unit made two arrests and recovered a loaded firearm in the area of 112 Westview Street in Dorchester. While on patrol in the area of the aforementioned location, officers observed a blue motor vehicle parked with multiple unknown individuals approaching before quickly leaving the area. A query of the motor vehicle led to the discovery that the vehicle’s registration had been revoked. Officers maintained surveillance of the vehicle when a gray vehicle pulled up to the blue vehicle.  Officers observed the operator of the gray vehicle exit and approach the operator of the blue vehicle before conducting a hand to hand exchange of an unknown item. The operator of the gray vehicle further opened the hood of the blue vehicle and placed an unknown item under the hood, then return to his vehicle and leave the scene at an accelerated speed with his passenger in the front seat. The blue vehicle followed shortly after, stopping at a residence in the area of Westview Street and Stratton Street. Both vehicles then returned to the area of 112 Westview Street, back in the original spots where they had been parked. At this time, officers approached the vehicles and immediately noticed a clear plastic bag containing marijuana on the center console of the gray vehicle. Both the operator and passenger were removed from the vehicle.  With the assistance of the BPD K9 unit, officers were alerted the front driver’s wheel well area. Officers opened the hood of the vehicle and noticed the air filter system had been improperly secured. Inside of the air filter officers located a loaded Valor Corp. 25 caliber firearm with as well as four clear plastic bags containing a substance believed to be crack cocaine. The driver and passenger of the gray vehicle were placed under arrest. The operator of the blue vehicle was issued a citation and his passenger was identified and released from the scene.

Officers arrested the operator, Alexander Aguasvivas Pena, 25-years-old, of Dorchester and the passenger, a 17-year-old, male juvenile of Dorchester. Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs. Aguasvivas Pena faces and additional charge of Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
