BPD in the Community: Students from Mildred Ave Community Center Enjoy a Day of Fun Courtesy of Suffolk Construction and Officers from District B-3 in Mattapan

BPD in the Community: On Monday, April 29, 2019, the BPD’s Bureau of Community Engagement provided high levels of good cheer and great fun for the students at the Mildred Avenue Community Center in Mattapan. As you can see in the photos, the kids had a wonderful time and smiles were most assuredly in high supply as the kids played sports and participated in a raffle while dining on free hamburgers and hot dogs fresh off of the grill. The BPD Ice Cream Truck made an appearance and provided all the frosty treats the kids could eat. Special thanks to Suffolk Construction for providing and donating all the raffle prizes which consisted of some great items including bicycles, helmets and multiple gift cards for movies and food establishments. All in all, a great time had by some really great kids.

BPD in the Community: Another Successful Flashlight Walk at Mission Park in District B-2

BPD in the Community: There were plenty of smiles at the District B-2 Flashlight Walk. Our officers had a great time meeting and connecting with so many concerned and compassionate community members. Flashlight Walks are all about coming together as a community and the District B-2 Flashlight Walk certainly achieved that goal. Thanks again to everybody who came out!

NBC's Lester Holt Came to Town to See the BPD's Ice Cream Truck Up Close and Personal and He Loved What He Saw!!!

BPD in the Community: NBC's Lester Holt had heard about the BPD Ice Cream Truck, and after hearing all the rave reviews, wanted to come to town to see it for himself. What he learned is what a lot of us in Boston already know--the men and the women of the BPD take community policing to a whole new level, and they're willing to think outside the box and go against the grain in its ongoing efforts to build even stronger relationships with the people we protect and serve.
