Boston Police Arrest Second of Two Murder Suspects in 2015 Killing of D'Andre King-Settles

At about 4:00 PM on December 18, 2015, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a shot spotter activation in the area of 58 Annunciation Road. Upon arrival, officers observed 17-year-old D’Andre King-Settles of Roxbury suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. King-Settles was later pronounced deceased.

For three months, Boston Police Homicide detectives worked tirelessly on this case and, through careful examination of all evidence, were able to identify 18-year-old Enrique Auch of Revere and 20-year-old Tsunami M. Ortiz of Randolph as the suspects who killed D’Andre King-Settles. Days after this determination, on February 27, 2016, the Boston Police Fugitive Unit along with Randolph Police were able to arrest Ortiz without incident.

On Thursday, March 31, 2016, officers on patrol in District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) observed an individual believed to be 18-year-old Enrique Auch of Revere. Auch was known to officers to have an outstanding arrest warrant for the murder of King-Settles. Officers approached Auch and placed him into custody without incident. On Friday in Roxbury District Court, Auch answered to charges of Murder, Assault to Murder, Armed Assault to Murder, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Carrying a Loaded Firearm without a License, and Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling.

Said Police Commissioner William Evans, "I'm proud of my detectives for compiling the evidence so quickly and efficiently. Their diligence, along with the community's assistance, played a huge part in solving this case. I hope that this second arrest can bring some closure to the family and friends of the victim."
