On Thursday, August 16, 2018, members of the BPD Homicide Unit and Fugitive Unit located and arrested Kevin Fernandes, 24, of Boston, in the area of 31 Rugby Road in Mattapan. At the time of his arrest, Fernandes was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm stemming from a lengthy investigation conducted by the Boston Police Homicide Unit. Fernandes will now face arraignment in Roxbury District Court.
The original facts surrounding the incident are as follows: At about 7:39 PM, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for an unknown medical situation at 55 Fenwood Road in Mission Hill. On arrival, officers located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased The victim was later identified as 33-year-old Eden Jacquet of Mission Hill.
