UPDATE: Victim Identified in Death Investigation in the Area of Commonwealth Ave and Clarendon Street

 

At about 3:19 AM on Sunday, April 30, 2017, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a cyclist struck in the area of Commonwealth Avenue and Clarendon Street. On arrival, officers located a male victim who was immediately transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Richard Archer of South Boston and has since succumbed to his injuries. He was pronounced deceased in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 2, 2017.

UPDATE: Officers Seeking Public's Help in Locating Motor Vehicle of Interest in Back Bay Hit-and-Run Crash

The Boston Police Department is attempting to locate the above-pictured motor vehicle in relation to a hit-and-run motor vehicle crash involving a cyclist that occurred at about 3:19 AM on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Clarendon Street. The motor vehicle is believed to be a 2015-2017 silver Toyota Camry with out-of-state (possibly New York) license plates. The motor vehicle is also believed to have damage to the front end and roof, as well as above the driver's side door.

BPD Community Alert: The Boston Police Department is Seeking the Public’s Help in Identifying and Locating a Motor Vehicle Involved in Hit and Run of a Cyclist in Boston’s Back Bay

The Boston Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a vehicle which was involved in an incident early this morning in Boston’s Back Bay. At about 3:19 AM on Sunday April 30, 2017, officers assigned to District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for a cyclist struck in the area of Commonwealth Avenue and Clarendon Street. On arrival, officers located a male victim, approximately 30 years old, who was immediately transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe the silver sedan in the pictures above struck the victim and fled the area. The vehicle should have damage on the roof near the windshield area on the driver's side.
