Red Sox Bullpen Cop Steve Horgan Throws the First Pitch Before His Retirement

On Saturday, October 6, 2018, Boston Police Officer Steve Horgan, joined by Mayor Walsh, friends, family, and coworkers, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees ALDS Game 2 at Fenway Park. In honor of Officer Horgan’s final season with the Red Sox, he was awarded with an “Officer Horgan Way” commemorative street sign and memories to last him a lifetime. The men and women of the BPD, along with all of Red Sox Nation, wish Officer Horgan the best in his retirement!

#ICYMI: Almost 5 years ago, BPD Officer Steve Horgan became a cherished part of @RedSox history when he struck a pose few will ever forget during Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS vs the Detroit Tigers. This year signals Steve's last in a Boston Police uniform and the Red Sox bullpen. Earlier tonight, he sat down with @WCVB @mariastephanos to talk retirement and the culinary quest the iconic #BPD Bullpen Cop hopes to pursue when his policing days are over.
